SPOT-ON GEOMETRY
The aggressive frame angles of the Nemesis combined with a generous top tube length, delivers an ideal XC geometry. Pedaling and climbing are remarkably efficient. Handling is quick and nimble.
DYAD CARBON FRAME LAY-UP
The Dyad lay-up schedule employed on our Nemesis frames utilizes two different types of high modulus carbon fibers, applied in specific sequences and angles to maximize strength, stiffness and ride quality in the lightest possible package. The Dyad Supreme lay-up on the 2016 Nemesis Team results in a frame that is 20% lighter and 15% stiffer!
TAPERED HEAD TUBE AND FORK STEERER
Riding fast with control requires steering precision, which starts with the front of the bike. Stiffening this area results in less wheel deflection, more wheel control. Moving to a full 1.5” head tube and steerer would achieve this, but would add unnecessary weight and bulk. Not to mention 1.5” steer clamp stem choices are limited. But a tapered 1 1/8” to 1.5” head tube and steerer serves up a significant increase in rough terrain tracking and stability without much of a weight penalty compared to standard 1 1/8” systems since the steer tube wall thickness can be reduced.
WHY PRESSFIT 30?
The larger 46mm bore diameter of the Press Fit 30 BB system increases the frame’s bottom bracket shell providing increased frame strength. The key difference with Press Fit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups that are pressed into the frame’s bottom bracket shell. Like BB30, Press Fit 30 uses the same bearing that is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Advantages of Press Fit 30? Improved bearing-to-shell interface, greater bearing durability and simple installation.
142 X 12MM MAXLE THRU-AXLE
Securing the rear wheel to the frame by threading it into the rear dropouts is not only safer, it’s stiffer. Increasing the rear axle diameter from 10mm to 12mm makes it only stiffer still. The rear wheel tracks directly in line with the frame, for more precise handling, so you can go faster with more confidence. The 142mm hub dropouts provide a self-centering feature for the rear wheel for faster, easier installation.
WHY 15MM AXLES?
15mm thru-axle QR’s offer all the benefits of the 20mm thru-axle design (stiffness!) + the benefits of the standard 9mm QR system (quick wheel removal!) without any of the down sides. The weight of the 15mm system is similar to the classic 9mm system (thanks to the lightweight alloy QR axle & reduction in fork leg weight) , but it is nearly as stiff as a 20mm freeride thru-axle. The increase in stiffness improves steering & handling significantly. It also puts less stress on the fork’s internals, improving fork durability and performance.
