Jamis 2016 Commuter 3 Hybrid – Get to work fenders and racks all ready to go. Jamis Bicycle Factory Store 416 787 4998 http://www.rbinc-sports.com

Many people are now discovering that commuting by bike is not only healthy, efficient and green, but on the right bike is also easy and fun. Our Commuters are designed to minimize maintenance, while maximizing comfort and efficiency. The lightweight aluminum frames, fenders, rear carriers, and single-chainring drivetrains are ready for the inner city shuffle, with our saddles and grips designed to offer comfortable contact points so you arrive refreshed and recharged.
STAY HIGH AND DRY
Every Commuter offers longer, full-coverage aluminum fenders, complete with mud flaps. The consistent inside fender radius and rolled edges keeps the water inside the fender and off your feet and drivetrain. Every Commuter fender offers adjustable stays, so changing the size of your tires is never an issue.

STYLISH STEERING
Every Commuter offers a smartly redesigned alloy handlebar that sweeps forward then back stylishly for a perfectly comfortable heads-up riding position.

OLD SCHOOL COOL
A quilled stem may seem old school, but the traditional design is both simple and versatile. And on our Commuters, it looks great too. Loosening one Allen screw allows stem and handlebar height to be easily adjusted without effecting headset preload. Pull it up on Monday morning for see-in-traffic commutes, then lower it for faster, fitness rides on the weekend.

READY TO LOAD
We’ve designed our rear carriers specifically for use on all our Commuter models and painted them to match the frame and forks. All models include a Jamis securing strap.

JAMIS METRO SADDLE
Our Jamis Metro Sport saddle offers just the right combination of width, shape and padding for riding comfortably and efficiently. Offered in gender specific sizing.

SINGLE CHAINRING DRIVETRAINS
Nothing complicates a drivetrain faster than adding a second or third chainring, a front derailleur and another shifter. The possibility of a missed shift or a dropped chain is increased and nothing is less fun in traffic. Which is why we spec a SINGLE 42 or 44 tooth chainring in the front and only 7 or 8-speeds in the back on our Commuters. For commutes to school or the office, it’s all the gearing you need.

INTERNAL GEARING
The Shimano Nexus hub on the Commuter 3 has many advantages over externally geared derailleur systems. For one, shifting is smoother than on external systems. They are also more reliable and require much less maintenance because the mechanism is not exposed to dirt or weather. Instead, the gears are sealed within the hub and bathed in lubricant. And, unlike derailleur systems, they can be shifted even when the bicycle is stopped, a valuable feature for the commuter who rides in stop-and-go traffic.

SMART TIRES
The CST Corporal tire features a single compound rubber and grooved tread, so it not only rolls quickly on the street, but also maintains control in gravel and disperses water in wet conditions. The casing is reinforced for extra flat protection and offers a reflective sidewall stripe to increase visibility in the dark.
TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Shimano’s Nexus-7 internal geared hub is simple to operate (you can shift gears while standing still, pedaling or coasting) and is virtually maintenance free, yet offers a suitably wide gearing range for efficient and comfortable cycling around town.

CST’s Corporal tire features a smart tread design for secure grip and low rolling resistance on roads & pathways. And their generous 700 x 32c casing size holds more air volume & is more comfortable to ride than narrower 23 – 28C road tires.

Full coverage alloy fenders including mud flaps fully protect both rider and bike from rain water sloughing off spinning wheels.

Our Metro Sport saddle features memory foam padding for optimum support with maximum comfort and is available in gender specific sizing for both our Mens and Womens bikes.

We’ve thoughtfully included a lightweight alloy rear carrier, reflector and strap to make local commutes with office gear a snap. The rear carrier is rated to carry 18kgs/40lbs.
